I am a qualitative consumer market research consultant with more than 30 years of marketing experience.

I believe that to be of maximum service to  clients, a market researcher must have expertise in consumer market research, that’s a given.  But they need more than that; They need to thoroughly understand consumer behavior and they need to understand the marketplace.  That’s why I specialize in qualitative consumer market research and work exclusively with housewares companies.  When you hire me, you can be assured that you are getting someone who knows market research, knows the consumer, and knows the housewares industry.

I started my marketing career in the consumer package goods industry, first at General Mills and then at Del Monte.  After a brief stint in the athletic footwear industry, I found my home in the housewares industry.  I got my first taste of  the housewares industry when I worked for Philips Consumer Products Company.   I founded Riedel Marketing Group in 1990 and have been serving housewares executives since.

My research specialties include: Private Online Communities (POCs), market assessments, concept screening, product concept testing, product validation testing, and home-use testing

I publish Market Tracker, in-depth reports that deliver market and consumer data for the Bakeware, Cookware, Kitchen Gadget and Tool, and Home Storage and Organization Product markets.

I write the Housewares Insight blog, the blog for busy housewares executives who want to stay current on housewares, marketing, home, technology, shopping, and retailing trends.

I am an accomplished speaker and have made numerous appearances at the housewares industry’s major trade show, the International Home + Housewares Show.  I continue to hone my speaking skills through membership in Toastmasters and currently serve as President of the Risk Takers club in Phoenix.
